Preparing Messages for Information Overload Environments

Preparing Messages for Information Overload Environments

Join IABC Triangle, along with IABC President Julie Freeman, for an educational talk on how to prepare messages in the age of information overload.

We all know the frustration we feel when we are flooded with emails, tweets, pokes, text messages and unread print publications. The trouble is that the people we are trying to communicate with — fellow employees, current and prospective customers, bloggers and media — feel just as frustrated. How do we get our audiences’ attention when they feel inundated with messages?

This presentation will cover research results from a recent IABC Research Foundation study, including what causes information overload (it is not just too much information) and how to break through the clutter so that messages can reach audiences and "Be Heard."<?xml:namespace prefix = o />

Fear of the Unknown – Managing Employee Concerns & Maintaining Morale During Times of Uncertainty and Change

Join IABC Triangle along with Stef Mendell, Director of Communications for GSK’s Global Manufacturing & Supply department, for an educational talk on how to manage employee communications to keep employees engaged during challenging times.
Employees everywhere are feeling pressured to do more with less, experiencing survivor guilt, adapting to new ways of working and handling changes to compensation, benefits and working conditions.  Employees are also feeling stress from the global economy with concerns about job security, a shrinking job market, devaluation of retirement assets and rising energy prices.  These internal and external factors have hit employees hard leaving many employees feeling less engaged and waiting for the next crisis.

Numerous studies have shown that engaged employees can make a significant difference to a company’s bottom line.  However, given the current environment, employees remain on the job, yet are less engaged. Learn how communications can play a key role in employees’ understanding of corporate challenges and shaping their response.

Please RSVP by Friday, October 9, 2009.
