Maria J. Mauriello has more than 20 years of experience working as a writer, editor and public relations professional. She started her career during her senior year of college, as a staff writer in the school’s Office of Public Information. After graduation, she worked for a large real estate company in New Jersey for six years and, during her tenure, created and managed several weekly newsletters before becoming the first editor of the company’s new, daily newsletter. Maria moved to North Carolina in 1990 and continued this groundbreaking trend when she was hired by a large nonprofit agency to establish its first-ever public relations office. During the next seven years, she created policies and procedures for effective communications and launched a media relations strategy that significantly increased the agency’s coverage.
